What to do with Matchette Road?
That question will be discussed this Monday at Windsor city council.
Council will look at a few options such as approving an environmental assessment for the possible closure of Matchette between Titcombe & Sprucewood in front of the Ojibway Nature Centre as well as creating crossings for wildlife.
Ward one's Fred Francis says he supports protecting species at risk but can't support shutting down Matchette Road.
"I believe it to be a quality of life issue and I certainly won't support something that severely in my option affects quality of life of the residents in ward one and south Windsor as a whole," says Francis.
Francis says about 10,000 vehicles travel on that stretch of roadway daily.
Administration is recommending the report be received for information.
