LaSalle's Kylie Masse had an amazing swim, setting a new Canadian record 58.18 in the women's 100 metre backstroke event at the FINA World Championships yesterday in Budapest.
Masse, just missed out on the World record by .06 seconds, as that mark was set eight years ago.
The 21-year-old also won Bronze in last summer's Olympics in Rio and she earned a Silver last December at the FINA World Short-Course meet at the WFCU Centre.
Masse will try and reach the podium in today's final.
Canada's Penny Oleksiak, just finished out of the medals, coming in fourth in the 100 metre butterfly.
