Vote takes place in November

The State of Michigan may become the latest jurisdiction to allow the recreational use of marijuana.

A proposal to legalize weed for those 21 and older is now on the November mid term election ballot.

According to EPIC-MRA polling, legal weed boasts a 61% approval rating among Michigan residents, with 75% of Democrats in favour, while more than half of Republicans disapprove.

Michigan GOP spokeswoman Sarah Anderson says the party isn't worried because GOP candidates can be both personally anti-marijuana but still champion the will of the people in the ballot initiative.
