Margaret Trudeau Visits Windsor Tonight

Trudeau is the guest speaker at "Mingle for Mental Health."

A well-known speaker will be in Windsor this evening to talk about her battle with mental illness.

Margaret Trudeau, mother of Canada's Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, will be the guest speaker at the "Mingle for Mental Health."

She spoke with Patty Handysides on the Afternoon News and says she knew for many years that something wasn't right.

She says it started with postpartum depression in her early 20's.

"I thought I could fix myself. I did get different help at different times and I changed my life. I did all the things that one does to try and fix ones self, but the truth is you can't fix yourself from a mental illness."

Trudeau says is takes seeking professional help to change your life.

Tonight's event at the at the Caboto Club is completely sold out.

Funds raised from the dinner will help support the Maryvale Mental Health Hospital.
