It's fireworks night above the Detroit River.
That means street closures throughout downtown Windsor to accommodate the thousand of people who will gather along the riverfront to watch the annual light show.
As of 6pm, Windsor police will be closing all roads north of Wyandotte St. between the Ambassador Bridge and Devonshire Rd.
Several roadways are also designated as a NO STOPPING ZONE from 12pm until 2am: Glengarry Ave. and Aylmer Ave. from Wyandotte St. to Riverside Dr., McDougall St. from Tuscarora St. to Giles Blvd., Victoria Ave. from Wyandotte St. to Erie St.

Windsor Police Constable Andrew Drouillard says everyone needs to use a little patience when coming to and leaving the fireworks.
"We haven't had any major problems and we expect that to continue. So again, be patient with road closures before the fireworks and after the fireworks when you have all that heavy pedestrian traffic," says Drouillard.
The fireworks are scheduled to begin around 9:55pm.
Free bike parking is available at Charles Clark Square from 7pm to 11:30pm courtesy of the Windsor Bicycling Committee.
A free Transit Windsor bus service will operate from Devonshire Mall to downtown from 6pm until approximately 9:30pm. Return bus service will commence at the conclusion of the fireworks.
