The 53-year-old man who was plucked from the frigid water of the Detroit River Wednesday has now died.
Police say the man was found floating face down in the early afternoon near Riverside Drive and California Avenue.
Windsor Fire and Rescue personnel were able to pull the male from the water and they worked with EMS to perform life saving measures.
The male was rushed to hospital in critical condition and succumbed to the injuries.
The Major Crimes branch continues to investigate after there was a report of a second person - a female - being in the water.
