A 29-year-old man who named to the “Wanted in Windsor” list has been arrested.
Windsor Police state that in July 2024, Alwassi Al Latif had allegedly forced a male victim into a car and transported him to another location, where the person was assaulted, threatened, and robbed.
At the time of these alleged offences, police state that Al Latif was serving a conditional sentence which required him to remain in Ontario and comply with electronic monitoring.
In October 2024, he was granted permission to travel outside of the province without the monitoring device, and had since evaded apprehension.
On Monday, Aug. 24, 2026, Al Latif turned himself in at Windsor Police Headquarters.
He faces charges including five counts of uttering death threats, two counts of extortion, assault causing bodily harm, and forcible confinement.
