An Illinois man has been charged after allegedly being caught speeding on Hwy. 401 in Chatham-Kent in an area approaching a construction zone.
On Wednesday at 1pm, the OPP were doing radar enforcement near Charing Cross Rd. when they saw an eastbound vehicle going over the speed limit.
The car was driving in excess of 140km/hour.
The area is where Hwy. 401 begins to merge into one lane through the construction zone by oversized traffic barrels and workers are present.
The 33-year old driver is charged with careless driving, driving vehicle in contravention of conditions and failing to surrender permit for motor vehicle
