A 27-year-old Windsor man faces numerous firearm charges after a report of gunfire on the weekend.
City police were initially called to a residence Saturday May 5, on a report of gunfire inside the home.
Officers spoke to a witness who told them he saw a man fire a single gunshot near Chatham St. West and Pelissier St. around 2am.
The officers then spoke to the owner of an SUV who told them his windshield and dashboard had been hit by a bullet.
Forensics confirmed it was damage from a bullet, a suspect was identified along with his location.
Early in the afternoon officers located the suspect in a hotel on Howard Ave. near the expressway — he was arrested after a brief struggle.
In a hotel room occupied by the suspect they found close to 600 grams of cocaine, some fentanyl patches and a bit of pot.
Joshua Gillespie is charged with pointing and discharging a firearm, possession of a dangerous weapon, assaulting police officers and resisting arrest.
Drug related charges are pending and no firearm has been located.
