There's a big construction project on the way for County Rd. 22 in Lakeshore.
The roadway will be expanded from two lanes to five, from I.C. Roy Dr., west to Puce Rd. where the last project was finished.
Manager of Design and Construction with Essex County, Peter Bziuk says a shovel is expected to be in the ground by May or June.
"We have about five months worth of work," says Bziuk. "We anticipate finishing up this year, it would take almost the full year, working right through the summer."
The plan is for County Rd. 22 to remain open during construction.
"Our intention is to have one lane running in each direction at all times," explains Bziuk. The I.C. Roy intersection, we do anticipate it will be closed to the south, possibly for as long as a month while the contractor is working right in that intersection."
The open house takes place tonight at the Atlas Tube Centre from 2pm-7pm.
