The Community Support Centre (CSC) of Essex-County is getting a helping hand from some football fans.
The agency has received a cheque for $6,490 from the Detroit Lion’s Tailgate Party — a group of fans who have come together since 2012 to watch the Lions football game on the American Thanksgiving at the Belle River Legion.
One of the organizers, Richard Brooks, says they are happy to give back and help those who use the Community Support Centre.
The prizes at this year’s event included televisions, Spitfire tickets and various gift cards.
CSC CEO Tracey Bailey says they are grateful to all those people who make the event a success.
The Community Support Centre of Essex County provides information and referral services for social, legal, health, environmental and business services.
