The landscape is going to change along Main St. in Kingsville.
Town council has approved a major development which will include two, six-storey condo buildings as well as a medical centre.
Mayor Nelson Santos says it's good news for the town as the land at 200 Main St. E. has been vacant for quite some time.

Santos says construction on the medical centre will begin in the spring. "We're looking at a new medical clinic, physician offices-type initiative to support local health care for residents. That's actually the first phase of the three phase development. That'll be the property that fronts on Main St."
Santos says, more recently, the town has seen the need for condo-style living grow. "We've certainly been seeing a lot of our current residents leaving the municipality because we don't have condominium-style ownership opportunities in Kingsville. We see them going to our neighbouring communities where they have six, eight or ten-storey tall facilities because less maintenance, less ownership, less property to maintain."
"The location is perfect for a project like this," says Santos. "That will help tie in for everything within walking distance. They're currently next to a school facility and then being on the Main St., again, the walking access to commercial areas and the services are an important piece of having a walkable community."
The condos will feature 60 units each while the medical building will be approximately 12,000 square feet.
