The Madonna di Canneto Festival returns to Ciociaro Club this weekend.
The 40th annual event will be held Sunday, and features a range of religious programs and festival programs for the community to take part in.
Religious programming will include a procession from the Chapel, Holy Mass, a Mass, and more.
Festival programming will include a BBQ and picnic, folklore dancing, choir groups, inflatable’s and games for children, live entertainment, and more.
Anna Vozza, President of the Ciociaro Club Windsor, says there’s something for everyone.
“We have a bunch of our traditional Italian foods, we have many kids activities, this year we have a vendors market just like Italian style. We have some entertainment, we have singing groups.”
She says hitting 40 years of this event is such a milestone.
“It’s incredible and you meet incredible people along the way. But as a child involved in the planning of this celebration and watching it evolve into what is today... it’s truly incredible and I’m proud.”
Vozza says anyone is welcome to attend.
“We want all the community to come out, it’s an incredible event. We have buses that come from out of town, and we welcome everybody. We’re just so proud of this tradition.”
The event will kick off Sunday, August 16, at 10 a.m. with the Holy Mass and will go until 11 p.m., with fireworks to end the event.
More information on the event can be found on the Ciociaro Club website.
