The Community Leader for MADD Windsor-Essex County is asking the public to have a plan in place if you are drinking.
Chaouki Hamka is sending out the reminder after Windsor police issued 10, three-day licence suspensions last weekend during two different RIDE Programs.
He says the stats are concerning.
"When you have 10 three-day suspensions that's 10 people who are out there under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs that could potentially cause a crash," says Hamka. "Obviously we don't know exactly what their levels were but the fact they were given a three-day suspension, that tells you that they blew at the warning range which is at 0.05 and above."
During last weekends RIDE Programs in Windsor, 619 vehicles were inspected.
There were zero impaired arrests.
Hamka says to call a cab, get an Uber or have a designated driver in place.
Last evening & into the early morning hours today our TRAFFIC ENFORCEMENT UNIT conducted a RIDE program at 2 locations. RESULTS:
