It's official.
The Mackenzie Tour is coming to Windsor.
On Friday tour officials along with the representatives from the local organizing committee announced details of the PGA Canada Tour event.
The "Windsor Championship" will take place at Ambassador Golf Club from July to July .
Tour President Jeff Monday says the event will have 156 players with a $200,000 purse.
He says golfers wanted to play in Windsor.
"We analyze different elements and we thought they had the tournament here before we started in 2012 in the old Canadian Tour and we had a number of players say hey Windsor really enjoyed being there, it's a nice place," says Monday.

He adds the golfers are looking forward to playing at Ambassador.
"The feedback we've had from players as well as our team who are familiar with it has been really positive," says Monday. "So we're confident it's going to be a good test and one that the players, not only will the best players sort of rise to the top there but they'll enjoy playing."
Monday says the economic spin-off for the event is about $2-million.
The event has six organizing partners including the City of Windsor, WFCU Credit Union and Sun Brite Foods.
Earlier this month, Windsor city council voted to contribute $120,000 towards the event for the next three years.
The event will also donate a minimum of $100,000 to the local hospice.
