Anyone who drives past MacDonald's Automotive Supercentre at Howard Ave. and Eugenie St. E. in Windsor would never be surprised to see a new auto part sculpture, but owner Peter Solly and his crew have something special up their sleeves
Solly tells CTV Windsor, he and his staff decided to create two new sculptures and they have dedicated them to the players from the Humboldt Broncos junior hockey team.
"We started about making a man, I say great, next thing you know, what are we going to do with it," he says. "We'll auction it off and where's the money going to go? Here we are."
He says the new metal art will be auctioned off at a Pink Floyd tribute benefit concert at the Olde Walkerville Theatre on Saturday night.
"What better cause can you put it towards? We decided to make a two for one deal with it, a big concert for the Broncos" says Solly. "I'd like to give back; it's tragic what happened to those people."
The doors open for the concert at 7pm and the show begins at 8pm.
Tickets are available by visiting the Olde Walkerville Theatre Box Office or calling them at (519)-253-2929.
