Charges have been laid following a confrontation at a retail store in Chatham.
Police were called to a business on Linden Street last Thursday and say a loss prevention officer was assaulted by a man who also made verbal threats.
The suspect fled before police arrived but was quickly identified.
A 28-year old was arrested last Friday and is charged with two counts of assault and uttering threats to cause bodily harm.
He was released with conditions and will be back in court in February.
