The losing streak for the Windsor Spitfires continues after a 9-2 loss to the number one overall team on Friday evening.
The Spits travelled to Kitchener to take on the Rangers, who remain the number one team overall, while Windsor is currently in last place.
Windsor is coming off a 12-3 loss to Owen Sound on Thursday evening.
The Spitfires weren't able to secure a win Friday, pushing their losing streak to seven games.
In the first period, the Spitfires were the first team to score with a goal by AJ Spellacy, assisted by Noah Morneau. The Rangers were quick to tie up the game with a powerplay goal. Kitchener gained their first lead of the night with another goal less than two minutes until the period was over, leading 2-1.
In the second, two back-to-back goals by Kitchener gave them a three point lead over Windsor. The Rangers found the back of the net once more nearly halfway through the period. Another goal for Kitchener had the scoreboard sitting at 6-1.
And in the third and final period of the game, Kitchener scored two goals in less than a minute. Another goal for the Rangers keeps them only one away from hitting double-digits. Windsor had the final goal of the game at 19:56 by Jack Nesbitt, assisted by Owen Outwater. Kitchener won 9-2.
Both teams will now travel back to Windsor to play once more Saturday night at the WFCU Centre.
