The Windsor Police Service has released a video of a suspect they’re working to identify in connection with the theft of multiple Bird e-scooters.
On August 5, officers began investigating after receiving reports that seven Bird e-scooters were stolen in the area of Wyandotte Street East and Windemere Road in Walkerville between 2 p.m. and 11 p.m. the previous day.
Police say the motorized scooters had been stripped of parts, including their battery mechanisms, making them inoperable.
As part of the investigation, officers obtained surveillance video from the 300 block of Ouellette Avenue showing a suspect taking several e-scooters from the area.
One of the stolen e-scooters was later recovered cut in half in an alley near the 300 block of Ouellette Avenue.
The suspect is described as a white male with a heavy build. At the time of the offences, he was wearing dark pants, a blue shirt, and a baseball hat.
