Windsor and London have made a joint bid to host the 2018-19 World Junior Hockey Championship.
Mayor Drew Dilkens along with three officials from London made a presentation Monday before Hockey Canada in Calgary.
Speaking on AM800's the Morning Drive, Mayor Dilkens says it went very well.
"There was a group of five of us, a couple of Windsor and three from London that came to make that bid to Hockey Canada and I think we did a good job," says Mayor Dilkens.
"They told us that we can expect to hear a final decision on or before December 1st so we know we are not the only community bidding. There are up to five others who are bidding and we don't know who they all are."
The tournament this year is being hosted in Toronto and Montreal and Dilkens admits it is a massive undertaking.
Under the joint bid agreement, London would host the gold medal game because it has the largest hockey arena in the Budweiser Gardens.
Windsor would be responsible to pay up to $400,000 of the cost to host the tournament.
