Jade Dufour — a local athlete who's been recognized by one of the most prestigious clubs in the country — is one of only 55 athletes to be named a member of Fuelling Athletes and Coaching Excellence (FACE).
The program supports up-and-coming athletes striving to represent Canada at the Olympics, and the selected athletes are awarded $10.000 to aid in their training.
Dufour is a wrestler from Puce is a graduate of L'Essor High School and is now in her third year at Concordia University in Montreal.
Dufour won silver medal this year at the University Championships and a bronze in 2016 at the World Juniors.
"Honestly I just want to perform my best, and now 2020 is a possibility, not just a dream," says the 20-year-old.
Dufour says the money will help, since there's no time to hold a part-time job, go to school, and train for the Olympics.
