Tourism Windsor Essex Pelee Island will soon be looking at a pot tourism strategy.
CEO Gordon Orr says TWEPI's board of directors met prior to today's Annual General Meeting and decided to discuss a strategy at the October board meeting.
"We will be looking at that for our October board meeting now that we know that date has been set in October," says Orr. "We got to find out how does Windsor-Essex fit into that and where can visitors go and what can they do. But we need a strategy to make sure that that happens."
He says tourism strategies have worked in other areas.
"All of the different product development issues we've done whether it be Barrels, Bottles and Brews, it's because we've got craft breweries, we've got distilleries they're there, we've collectively brought them together and they've joined focuses in our marketing to see how we would market the destination."
