In a show of strength and unity, the Windsor local of the Canadian Union of Postal Workers is holding a rally Thursday at the post office in Tecumseh.
CUPW Local 630 President Phil Lyons says the local will showcase the union's "Delivering Community Power" initiative that was presented to Canada Post during ongoing negotiations.
Lyons says the rally is being held in Tecumseh because the membership is having a difficult time out there.
"Who are being harassed once again over the overtime they're forced to work and the working conditions are in Tecumseh," says Lyons.
He says the membership is "hanging tough" during the rotating pickets.
"They see it's really starting to become effective the rotating strikes and it's not inconveniencing the public totally," says Lyons. "We are delivering and they're starting to see the affects of it now. I think they're all behind us."
Lyons says members of the Windsor and District Labour Council along with the Ontario Federation of Labour will be attending the rally.
"We've got partners at labour council that are basically working on a lot of the same imitative we are, just happened to go that way," he says. "It goes hand in hand, a lot of things that are proposed for the Windsor area and community with taking part the services to the public."
The rotating strikes against Canada Post began on October 22.
The strikes have already hit Windsor and Amherstburg.
Thursday's rally will take place between 10am and 2pm.
