It's about changing the world with a giving heart.
Seven groups and individuals were recognized Thursday in Windsor as part of the National Philanthropy Day Celebration.
The awards, presented by the Association of Fundraising Professionals Canada South Chapter, were given to groups or individuals to honour those who have been generous with the time or money.

Alexis Nadon, 12, is part of the Lemonade Brigade which has been raising money to help support We Care for Kids.
The group has raised close to $17,000 in four years by selling lemonade and cookies. The group received the Award for Youth in Philanthropy.
"Feels really good and I'm honoured to accept this award and help the community," she says. "I'm learning a lot about how to be selfless and take others into consideration and try to be the nicest person I can be."
Former Windsor Mayor and President of the WFCU Credit Union Eddie Francis and his wife Michelle Prince received the Spirit in Philanthropy Award for heading up a hospital fundraiser last November which raised a million dollars for the new acute care hospital.
Prince says for her, fundraising for the cause was a no-brainer.
"My four year battle with cancer says that we deserve a better facility," she says. "We do great with the things that we have, our doctors and nurses do the best they can with the equipment that we have but why wouldn't we want better and we deserve better and finally Windsor-Essex is being recognized and we will have better."
Other recipients include Brian and Lisa Schwab, Hogan's Printing, Caesars Windsor and Dan Inverarity.
The awards were presented Thursday morning at the Windsor-Essex Children's Aid Society.
