LaSalle Mayor Ken Antaya is asking residents to be patient.
Antaya says members of council including himself have received calls from residents asking about delays in garbage collection and recycling pick-up.
"Hopefully we'll be able to work our way through it and we'll get the service back to the level we're expecting," says Antaya.
He says the town has reached out to its contractor, Windsor Disposal Services (WDS) about the issue.
Antaya says town officials were told some staff were sent home due to the recent heat as well as the company is experiencing a labour shortage.
"We have a lot of faith in the service that they've been providing to us and this has never happened before," says Antaya. "So we'll just allow them to work it out and hopefully we'll see an improvement in the next couple of months or so."
Both Lakeshore and Tecumseh are also experiencing similar delays.
