Restoration of a Windsor heritage building is expected to be complete by the end of the year.
Work on the Paul Martin Building downtown is on time and on budget but it's not out of the woods just yet according to Windsor West MP Brian Masse.

Masse says now the federal government needs to relocate jobs to the building to keep it vibrant. "It is an investment by not only our citizens of this community but our country. It is a heritage building with regards to a lot of history, and it is also important to our downtown. That is one of the reasons that we fought in this community from being demolished because that is what was going to happen and we are going to give it new life because we do not need another black hole downtown."
Restoration is expected to cost nearly $3-million and, once complete, the building's fate will be decided by the federal government.
