The Regional Children's Centre in west Windsor is expanding its mental health walk-in counselling clinic.
The clinic, which provides quick and confidential access to mental health services, is going from three days a week to five days a week due to an increase in demand.
It's aimed at youth up to the age of 18.
Vice-President for Mental Health Addictions at Hotel-Dieu Grace Healthcare, Sonia Grbevski told AM800's The Afternoon News this is about being available for the teens when they need the help.
"We welcome any young individual that might not be feeling okay or just not checking out okay," says Grbevski. "The sooner we can intervene, the better it is for the individual."
The walk-in counselling clinic is part of Hotel-Dieu Grace Healthcare on Connaught Rd. in Windsor.
She stresses that they need to be available when young people need them.
"When the crisis is happening or even if we can identify it even before the actual crisis happens, so even if we can use this a preventative, then we would deem ourselves as successful," says Grbevski.
The clinic will be available Monday to Thursday from 12pm to 8pm and Friday from 8:30am to 4pm.
