A reminder from the Windsor-Essex County Health Unit.
The health unit has set out suspension notices to students with incomplete immunization records.
Health Promotion Specialist Joanne Hegazi says a letter was first sent out in May to students born between 2008 to 2013, reminding them to update their immunization records.
She says at that time, more than 6,200 letters were sent out, howver progroess has been made with 2,300 letters being sent out last week.

"We're going to be looking at the birth cohorts of 2008 to 2013," says Hegazi. "So those would be students in senior kindergarten to grade 5."
She says the updated records must be sent to the health unit.
"It's not automatic from health care providers to the health unit," says Hegazi. "So once they report that to the health unit and we'll let them know automatically that their records are updated and they'll be taken off that list."
To avoid suspension students have up until September 18th at 4:30 to submit updated records. "So the actual suspension day is September 19th," says Hegzi
