The owner of a downtown Windsor hair salon says they've been through hell and back but is ready to reopen next week.
Antoine Greige is the owner of Antoine Greige Salon and Spa on Goyeau Street between Wyandotte Street East and Tuscarora Street.
He says being shutdown the past couple of months has been more than difficult, adding iit has impacted his business along with his staff and clients.
"What I heard from a lot of the clients, friends, people, whatever, I don't know what they have against hair dressers, they didn't let us open," says Greige. "We could go to a bank, we deal with them, they can't come to us and deal with us. I don't understand that but it's good news that we're opening and I hope to god we never close again."
He says being shutdown the past couple of months has been tough.
"We still have our bills going, our taxes, our insurance going and we can't pay it off," say Greige. "So it sucks for a lot of us, not only the hair dressers, a lot of other people too."
Ontario will enter step 2 of its reopening plan on June 30, a couple days earlier than expected.
Under step 2, non-essential stores inside shopping malls can reopen with restrictions, the number of people allowed to seat at a table on a restaurant patio increases from four to six and outdoor social gatherings can have up to 25 people in attendance.
