Members of Veterans Voices of Canada will be at Essex County Council this evening.

They will be highlighting the "128 Flags of Remembrance Tribute" ceremony that's taking place in September.

Committee member Michael Beale says the group is looking for the county's support in the event.

He says Windsor participated in the event last year where 128 Canadian flags were placed along the riverfront to remember veterans and emergency personnel.

"We need to bring all of southwestern Ontario into the mix and have folks have the opportunity," says Beale.

Veterans along with emergency personnel will be remembered. He says "police and fire and first response folks to, anybody who did in the service to Canada."

The event takes place on September 22nd at Ambassador Park, near the Ambassador Bridge.

He says those interested in a flag can visit the Veterans Voices of Canada Facebook page.
