Fundraising for a summer camp organized by the Windsor-Essex Children's Aid Society is falling short of its goal.
The "Fresh Air" Summer Camp Program has helped to send about 350 children to a number of day, recreational and overnight camps.
But the C.A.S Foundation needs $50,000 to pay for the camp time, and right now, it is $30,000 short of its goal.
C.A.S Manager of Public Relations Mike Clark says donations are down, so cuts will have to be made.
"We don't want to deny children the opportunity so we kinda look at what other programs, what we have to decrease or something like that to make it happen" says Clark.
The summer camp program has been going in for over 25 years.
Clark says denying the kids isn't an option. "For many of these kids, this isĀ the only holiday they will have and the only time to get away from home, develop some talents, make some good memories or make a friend that might last for life" he says.
It is looking for some financial help from individuals or corporate sponsors to make sure kids can still go to camp.
