An Essex County educator is being recognized by the Elementary Teachers' Federation of Ontario.
Jennifer Lasoski is the recipient of the 2019 New Member Award.
The award recognizes a members with five years or less with the federation who has shown a commitment to the organization's priorities.
According to a release, Lasoski has been "indispensible to her fellow teachers and to the Greater Essex Country Occasional Teacher Local after being acclaimed to the local Executive in 2016" over the past three years.
She's served on the Awards, Collective Bargaining, New Members, Social Justice, Status of Women and Professional Learning Committees.
Lasoski has also organized and successfully ran the local's Professional Learning for Occasional Teachers Conferences in Windsor.
The federation represents 83,000 elementary public school teachers, occasional teachers and education professionals across the province.
