A family physician from Tecumseh has made the shortlist of candidates to become an astronaut with the Canadian Space Agency.
Dr. Adam Sirek is among 72 people selected from a list of 3,700.
He's been a pilot since he was 16 and says going into space is something he's always dreamed of. "It's nice to know that Canada has so many highly qualified and highly eager individuals who are willing to push the boundaries of what we're able to do here, and represent our country on the world and beyond the world stage, seeing how far science and technology can take us."
Sirek tells CTV Windsor he's thrilled to have made it this far.
Final selections take place in August.
