Local companies have a better understanding of what's involved in the Gordie Howe Bridge project.
A networking event has been held so they could meet with the companies on the shortlist to build the span.
Windsor Detroit Bridge Authority spokesperson Mark Butler says "the companies who attended included contractors to suppliers and service providers."
"The WDBA is just facilitating the event for companies to meet the proponents" says Butler. "We want to make sure that the proponent teams have the opportunity to meet the local suppliers and contractors. We're not going to be involved, all we want to do is give them an opportunity to meet, they can then network and they can showcase to these proponents what they can do."
A similar event takes place in Detroit today.
The project is expected to create thousands of jobs.
