A funding boost for two local summer camps.
The Alan Quesnel Family Foundation has donated $250,000 to Kiwanis Sunshine Point Camp and Camp Brombal.
He recently presented the cheques at a Windsor Police Services Board meeting.
Quesnel says he remembers attending one of the camps.
"Actually I went to Kiwanis Camp as a kid and I know the good work that they've done for over 50 years and Camp Brombal has been doing the same."
He says the camps are a big part of the community.
"Programs like this and charities that operate like this for kids that are less fortunate are definitely an importance to me and to them," says Quesnel. "I just wanted to let both camps know that I wanted to contribute a larger amount then expected."
Quesnel says his donations are front-loaded.
"Basically gave them assurance that they don't have anything to worry about for quite sometime," says Quesnel. "The fact that the media is covering it is a good thing because it's a good cause and I'm proud and happy to be apart of it."
The Kiwanis Sunshine Point Camp started in 1947 and takes place in Harrow over the summer months.
Camp Brombal is organized by Windsor police and is entering its 16th year.
