A local band is helping out with a major event coming up in December.
Bigg Wiggle has hosted Wigglefest for 8 years, and this time proceeds are going to help out with one aspect of the FINA Swimming Championships.
A cheque for $10,500 was handed to the city by Bigg Wiggle drummer Mike Cooper.
He says it feels great to be able to give back to the community that has supported them.
Cooper says they've been raising funds for charities for many years.

Mayor Drew Dilkens says the funds go to his Youth Leadership Team: "they speak multiple languages many of them, we've got them positioned in key places, if you have a skill in Russian, you'll be with the Russian group trying to help them. It's really great, it's set the stage well for this event, then for Mem Cup and whatever else is in the pipeline"
The money is being used for outfits for the 42 members of the youth team who will be acting as community ambassadors at the FINA championships.
Mayor Dilkens also confirmed Olympic multiple gold medalist Michael Phelps will be at the events at the WFCU Centre.
