A local auto analyst is not surprised at the choice for the new Fiat Chrysler CEO.
Mike Manley was recently announced as the successor to Sergio Marchionne.
Tony Faria tells CTV Windsor Manley was the leader of the three candidates vying for FCA's top job, and for good reason.
"Being the head of Jeep and Ram where essentially the great, great bulk of all profitability at FCA comes from."
Faria believes it won't take Manley long to learn about all parts of FCA, including Windsor Assembly.
President of Unifor Local 444 Dave Cassidy tells CTV Windsor they aren't going to let the changeover slow down their demands for job security.
"They know that when they come to Windsor, we do it right, we build it right in Windsor and they always rely on us and we have always been their top producer for so many years."
If given a chance, the CEO of the Economic Development Corporation, Stephen MacKenzie says, he'd pitch Manley the broader impact of FCA in Windsor.
"Our machine, tool, die and mold companies over 250 of them, over 90 auto parts companies."
Sergio Marchionne died July 25 at the age of 66.
He joined Fiat in 2004 and led the Turin-based company's merger with bankrupt U.S. carmaker Chrysler.
