A Windsor author is supporting the Broncos and the people of Humboldt in the best way she knows how, with words.
The words for "I Will Always Love You" came to author Melissa Lyons on a beach in Thailand.
She tells CTV News it's meant to bring peace and comfort to those who have lost a loved one or experienced some type of personal loss - and she wants to spread that comfort to those suffering in Humboldt.
"Whatever it is, these words came to me unexpectedly, I think it's one of the biggest gifts of my life," she says. "It's about loss but more than that, it's more about living life fully and whole heartedly."
Mary Anne Sobocan says the book got her through the death of her father, and when her mother passed away two-months-ago.
"Melissa taught me that you have to internalize your sadness and you can go through your sadness," says Sobocan. "But you have to make sure to let your sadness go."
Lyons hopes it will help Humboldt heal too.
"It warms my heart, it fills me with joy at a time when there's a whole lot of joy missing," she says.
Lyons is working with a group of local women to send 200 copies of the book to the Saskatchewan community.
