It was a productive weekend for local athletes at the Canadian Track and Field Championships in Ottawa.
University of Windsor grad, Melissa Bishop won the women's 800metre event in 2.00.26 seconds, while Windsor's Brandon McBride was an easy winner in the men's 800 in just 145.23.
Belle River's Noelle Montcalm another Olympian from last year in Rio won silver in the 400 hurdles, and Sarah Mitton of the Lancers captured a bronze in the shot put.
Former Lancer and the World Champ in the beer mile, Corey Bellemore just missed the podium, finishing fourth in both the 800 and 1500 races.
McBride, Bishop and Montcalm will all represent Canada and next month's World Championships in England.
