The first job fair is scheduled for June 14th from 38pm at the Holiday Inn in Windsor
Looking for a job?
The Labourers International Union of North America Local 625 or LiUNA is holding three job fairs this month in hopes of filling up to 500 labour jobs ranging from general labour to cement finisher, carpenters, pipe layers and electricians.
Union Business Manager Rob Petroni says it is a rewarding career with steady work, paying on average $45/hour.
He emphasizes this is not a ramp-up for the new bridge or hospital but for general local construction jobs.
He says the jobs are there to be filled.
"Over the last three or four weeks, I think upwards of a 100-150 people have dropped off a resume, been interviewed within 24 hours and gone to work" he says.
He says people from all walks of life can apply.

"We ask for a Grade 12 diploma, but quite honestly there are people who come from different countries that may not have that and we don't overlook them if they don't."
The job fair locations, dates and times are as follows:
- Wednesday, June 14th at the Holiday Inn on Huron Church Rd in Windsor from 3-8pm.
- Wednesday, June 21th from 3-8pm in Chatham at the John D Bradley Centre.
- Wednesday, June 28st from 3-8pm at the Leamington Days Inn
Petroni asks people to have their resume in hand and be ready for a short interview.
