Some local investors have big plans for the former Loop/Fish Market building in downtown Windsor.
Dino and Anthony Maggio of Mid South Land Development, Brian Schwab and the Cypher Systems Group Steven and John Savage have purchased the building at Chatham and Ferry St. with a multi-million dollar plan to convert it to lofts and commercial space.
Clean-up is taking place almost immediately.

"Right now we are at the stage where we are having plans drawn up and once we have the plans we are going to submit it to the city," says Mid South Land Development President Dino Maggio. "We are going through the procedures that need to be like site plan control, permits, hoarding permits, demolition permits."
At this point, he says it is difficult to say what type of tenants the development is going to attract but he has no doubts that the space will be filled.
"The corner you can't beat it and if we can bring it back to its originality, we will attract tenants," he says.
Maggio says the city's Community Improvement Plan did play a role in sparking interest in the building.

He expects renovations will be in full swing by January or February.
Last year, Toronto area developer Henry Tam purchased the property in the 100 block of Chatham St. West with plans of opening a food court and student apartments but he struggled in dealing with city procedures.
