Former first round draft pick Brandon Pettigrew has been waived by the Detroit Lions.
He was transferred earlier this week from the physically unable to perform list to the non-football injury list.
Pettigrew played in 93 games for the Lions over 8 seasons and averaged 64 receptions in the years 2010 to 2013.
The Lions have declined to comment on the move but his locker has been cleaned out and his nameplate removed.
The veteran Tight End was selected in the first round in 2009.
