Matthew Stafford's fourth down pass was broken up in the end zone in the closing seconds as the Detroit Lions lost 31-24 to the Raiders in Oakland Sunday in NFL action.
Stafford threw for 406 yards and three touchdowns as the Lions (3-4-1) lost for the fourth time in five games.
Stafford moved Detroit down to the one yard line in the closing seconds. On the Lions final play, he threw the ball up for tight end Logan Thomas but Raiders' defensive back Karl Joseph broke it up.
Oakland quarterback Derek Carr threw a nine-yard touchdown pass to rookie Hunter Renfrow with 2:04 remaining to put the Raiders ahead.
The Raiders (4-4) got 120 yards rushing and two touchdowns from rookie running back Josh Jacobs.
