Matt Prater nailed the go-ahead, 52-yard field goal with 1:35 left to play as the Lions edged the Bears, 27-24, in Chicago.
The Lions scored three touchdowns in the second quarter, two on Matthew Stafford touchdown passes and the other on a D.J. Hayden fumble return.
The return touchdown was Detroit's seventh of the year, tying a team record.
The Lions have won three straight to improve to 6-and-4 on the year. Tarik Cohen tied the game with 5:02 left in the fourth on a 15-yard touchdown run for Chicago.
Jordan Howard finished with 125 rushing yards and a score as the Bears fell to 3-and-7.
The Lions are now alone in second place in the NFC North. Detroit is 6-and-4 after its third straight win, including 4-and-1 on the road.
The Lions host Minnesota Thanksgiving Day at 12:30pm.
