The Red Wings let an early two goal lead slip away and dropped their season opener 6-4 to the Lightning last night in Tampa Bay.
Thomas Vanek scored twice, while Frans Nielson and Danny DeKeyser added the other goals for Detroit.
Petr Mrazek made 30 saves in taking the loss for the Wings.
The Wings will look for their first win in Sunrise tomorrow against the Panthers, then return to Joe Louis Arena for the home-opener Monday night.
