Lakeshore wants to enhance the community of Lighthouse Cove.
Mayor Tom Bain says the town is developing a community plan for the area and is looking for public feedback.
He says the plan will look at environmental issues, services and land use issues.
Bain says it's important to hear from area residents.
"Our thoughts are who better knows then those we are living there right now," says Bain. "What their needs are and what they would like to see brought into their community. Really with the water front, everything that they have there, it's a hidden gem."
Bain says residents in the area would like to see more development.
"As far as residential development goes, there's been some requests to bring in sanitary sewers into the area, really upgrading the whole area with infrastructure needs," says Bain.
Bain feels the plan for Lighthouse Cove will be discussed during 2020 budget deliberations.
"We'll be looking at probably at next year's budget," says Bain. "We'll get the ideas formulated, get the report back on it, get the secondary plan completed and then council will look at how they want to initiate it in the timeline but certainly to move it along as quickly as we can."
Lighthouse Cove is located at the mouth of the Thames River.
