A local charity in Windsor is assisting children.
Level Playing Field will be handing out new and gently used sporting equipment to students at Dougall Avenue Public School Friday morning.
Group founder Sara Pizzicaroli says she started the charity last summer with hopes of giving all students a chance to play and enjoy sports.
She says the donations vary.
"Everything from hockey, soccer, football, a lot of cleats, a lot of soccer balls, basketballs, pretty much everything so far," says Pizzicaroli.
She's glad to help area students.
"It's one thing to be able to collect the equipment, but it's another to be able to give it to people that I know are going to be able to help them in some way. It's going to be really special for me to see that and I'm really excited for it," says Pizzicaroli.
She picked Dougall Public School after speaking to a teacher.
"It's the first drop off event that we're doing and it's the first school that we're actually giving donations to," says Pizzicaroli.
She says many donations came from sporting groups and the public.
