It appears Unifor Local 2458 has kepts its promise not to picket outside of local high schools but instead has targeted elementary schools today.
Several delays are being reported as parents and teachers arrive at elementary schools in Windsor-Essex this morning.
The 370 clerical workers, technicians, custodians, maintenance and office staff walked off the job on Monday to back contract demands.
School Board Spokesperson Stephen Fields confirms he has received reports from elementary schools indicating there are pickets there when previously there had not been any pickets.
The pickets have caused lengthy delays at the secondary level but Unifor Local 2458 said its members would not picket high schools today because of the scheduled Grade 10 Literacy test which is required to graduate.
