Relief from a taxi company in Leamington after the town decided to extend its licence.
Four cab companies were in non-compliance with the town's new taxicab by-law regarding parking concerns and where cabs park.
Following a meeting on Monday, some of the cab companies have received a letter stating the licence has been extended.
Leamington Taxi is one of those companies.
Jennifer Mancebo with Leamington Taxi says the company is happy.
"We were all stressed out worried until we got the letter in the mail stating that yes, they are willing to comply with us as long as we are willing to comply with them that we follow the regulations and that we do have all our stuff in by September 30th."
Mancebo says they were worried about their regular customers.
"Most of our customers, you know they are seniors and they have walkers. Starting in September, we carry the special ed kids from Cardinal Carter to Super Store and Giant Tiger, we do that twice a day, so without them it would be really upsetting to know how they would get around."
She says there were a lot of unknowns following Monday's meeting.
"When we left the meeting, everybody was in, we were really upset, distraught, crying, we were just worried because we weren't sure if we were going to be revoked, suspended or open, we weren't sure"
Mancebo says the letter did indicate that the license would be suspended for an eight hour period September 13th.
