Provincial police in Leamington, Ont. have been cleared by the Special Investigation Unit (SIU).
Officers were called to a medical cannabis growing operation after man was caught allegedly trying to break in on March 26, according to the SIU.
When OPP arrived they found a 42-year-old man, "in rough shape and surrounded by workers and security personnel."
According to the SIU, the man was kneed and punched several times while officers attempted to cuff him and place him under arrest.
He was taken to hospital where it was determined he had a broken right arm.
It was determined the injuries to the man sustained during his arrest don't warrant criminal charges, according to SIU Director Joseph Martino.
The SIU is an arm's length agency that investigates reports involving police where there has been death, serious injury or allegations of sexual assault.
